PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police are looking for a third suspect wanted for the stabbing and attempted carjacking of Pittsburgh Steelers' lineman Mike Adams Saturday on the South Side.

It happened in the overnight hours near 17th and East Carson Streets.

A security guard informed reporters and photographers that Adams was released by another door as the media hoped to talk with him as he was released from UPMC Mercy just before noon.

Police say Adams was standing near his truck when he was confronted by three men who tried to carjack his vehicle.

Police say Paranay sucker punched Adams.

"I didn't know it was a Steeler," Paranay said while being led into police headquarters. "I didn't do it, so I don't know what to say."

Detectives believe Means had a gun and pointed it at Adams threatening to shoot him.

According to the criminal complaint, Means and Adams exchanged words during the incident:

Means: "Gimme your car!"

Adams: "You aren't gonna shoot me on the street in front of people."

Means: "I want your car or I'll shoot you in the face and kill you in front of everyone."

A third man stabbed him in the abdomen and slashed his forearm.
