Ben Roethlisberger Undergoes Knee Surgery

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger underwent minor knee surgery Wednesday the team announced.

The team says Roethlisberger had the minor surgery on his right knee after having some slight discomfort during the offseason.

Team doctors advised Ben to have the surgery done now, to ensure he will be completely healthy by the start of training camp.

The team says the surgery will have no long-term effects on his health.

According to USA Today Sports, the procedure was arthroscopic surgery to clean out cartilage in Roethlisberger's knee.

Roethlisberger is heading into his 10th season as the Steelers quarterback.
