Boy Rushed To Hospital After Dog Attack In Monessen

MONESSEN (KDKA) — An 8-year-old boy was flown to Children’s Hospital after being attacked by a dog in Monessen.

Raymond King was on a neighbor’s porch, according to police, when the dog’s owner says she tried to let the boy in and the dog out.

Instead, the Shar Pei mix named Dusty attacked the child.

The boy has wounds so severe on his arm and calf that police say you could see his bones.

An animal control officer removed the dog, which will be held for 10 days.

Police say the animal has had all its vaccinations.

No word on King’s condition. His family has asked Children’s Hospital not to release any information.

Neighbors say the dog is not a bad dog, just very playful.
