Suspect Wanted In Canton Twp. Double Shooting Turns Self In

CANTON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- One person has been taken into custody in connection with a double shooting in Washington County earlier this week that left a father and son injured.

According to state police, 24-year-old Eric Johnson turned himself in Friday evening at the barracks in Washington County.

Johnson was arraigned and then taken to the Washington County Jail on $50,000 straight cash bond.

The shooting happened in the early morning hours of Thursday outside the Cozy Corner Bar on Euclid Avenue in Canton Township.

Police say Robert Sutton and his son, Akili, were both shot after a fight outside of the bar.

According to investigators, Robert suffered several gunshot wounds and his son was shot in the face while lying on the ground after being struck from behind and knocked unconscious.

A second suspect, 20-year-old Tevin Heyman, who is Johnson's stepbrother, is still on the run.

The investigation into the shooting continues.
