PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — As four parishes learned over the weekend in Beaver County they would be merged to form a new one St. Monica, a numbness quickly settled in.
“I didn’t know, maybe I’ll go to this new one, I don’t know,” said parishioner Delores Kuglics.
The merged churches Christ the Divine Teacher, Saint Philomena and Saint Rose Lima will still utilize their buildings. Divine Mercy will close for good, but the academy will remain open.
“Have yard sales, have anything to repair the thing that been there all my life and many more people’s lives,” said neighbor Nancy Oliver.
Each church has a couple hundred members in their congregation.
As of July 15, the churches will officially become one.
