New Security Measures At PNC Park, Metal Detecting Wands

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Pirates announced additional security measures for fans visiting PNC Park.

Among the most noticeable changes, all fans will now be screened with metal detecting wands before entering the ballpark.

The extra security measures start Tuesday night, with a 7:05 p.m. game against the San Francisco Giants.

The Pirates say fans should allow for additional time when entering the ballpark.

Guests are asked to leave unnecessary metal objects in their vehicles or at home.

The Pirates say the changes are to further ensure the safety for those attending games.
