Washington Co. Restaurant Owners Work To Solve Burglaries

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The owners of three Washington County restaurants have joined forces and pooled their money to catch thieves who broke into their businesses.

The burglaries took place within a four hour span at Angelo's, New Tower Restaurant and Lounge and Shorty's Lunch.
The owner of Angelo's has two suspects on surveillance video, which he has handed over to police.

Michael Passalacqua told KDKA's Brenda Waters, the pair took cash, computers and two safes. Nothing was taken from the other two locations, but there was a lot of damage.

Passalacqua says he and the others are working together to solve this crime.

"We all put 500 bucks in the pot to see if we could raise enough for a reward -- $1,500s for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perps."

Since the restaurants are not far apart, two of the owners believe this was an inside job, perhaps someone who worked for all three businesses.

Police aren't saying if the break-ins are related, just that are working to solve these cases.
