Raising kids isn't easy.

No parent always makes the right decisions –

And probably everyone would like at least one "do over."

But some mistakes are a little more – extreme – than others.

Take – for example – the 26 year old Shaler woman who was arrested Wednesday.

She brought her three kids with her –

Ages 4 – 3 – and 18 months –

When she drove to East Liberty to buy drugs.

Then there is the Millvale woman and her boyfriend who were driving on the Turnpike last month.

Police were called when other drivers spotted a dog cage in the back of the pickup truck.

It had a dog in it.

And a young girl.

When police stopped them –

The couple said the woman's ten-year-old daughter had begged to ride with the dog –

So they let her.

A district judge suggested that adults should have more common sense than a ten-year-old kid.

Stories like these make you wonder – what were these folks thinking?

Then you realize – they weren't.
