Racing fans in Pittsburgh will get a good, up-close look at Jaguar's spectacular new two-seat sports car, the F-Type, at this year's Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix as it has been named the Official Pace Car of the event. Two 2014 Jaguar F-TYPE vehicles badged with the official Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix emblem, will pace the vintage races through the streets of Schenley Park. The cars will also serve as the official mascot of the event.

This vehicle is the first new sports car that the brand has introduced in over 50 years. With front-engine, lightweight aluminum architecture and rear-wheel drive, the F-TYPE is engineered to be a true high-performance sports car. The car is powered respectively by the new Jaguar supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine in 340hp and 380hp outputs and a 495hp 5.0-liter supercharged V8. It was one of the most exciting vehicles I saw at the New York International Auto Show back in April and has created quite a buzz among automotive media and enthusiasts

"Jaguar has built its sports car heritage over 75 years, and the F-Type represents a continuation of a sporting bloodline in a thoroughly modern way," said Stuart Schorr, Vice President, Communications & Public Affairs, Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC. "And now, the F-Type, successor of the iconic Jaguar E-Type, will be on the road alongside the world-class vintage cars at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix."

The PVGP is a ten day series of events culminating in the race through Schenley Park July 20-21. It is the nation's largest vintage sports car racing event and the only one run on city streets.
