Bizarre Foods Star Stops By The Afternoon News
PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) -- Is Pittsburgh the next bizarre foods mecca?
Well maybe not mecca, but it has enough "bizarre" to make it on to a Travel Channel hit show.
Andrew Zimmern, star of "Bizarre Foods," stopped by the KDKA Afternoon News with Bill Rehkopf and talked about the season premiere of his show, which will air Monday. Bill asked him what gave him the idea for this show.
"I wanted to tell the stories of culture through food, food was the best commonality of people's better nature," Zimmern said. "We can talk about our love of food rather than our differences."
Zimmern previewed some of his many stops on this upcoming season, as well as the first episode of next season, which was filmed in Pittsburgh.
"There are so many reasons to point to Pittsburgh and say, 'wow!'" said Zimmern.
