Steve Blass On The Pirates: Any Arm Will Do

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) -- Pirates broadcaster Steve Blass joined The Fan Morning Show on Wednesday to pinch hit for Bob Walk in Walk's weekly segment with the guys, "Walk on Wednesday."

Blass thinks that the surprising thing about Bucs' starter Jeff Locke's success is that he has been consistently throwing quality pitches night in and night out, not dropping off much at any point.

Blass feels that the Bucs' pitching has been "ungodly" in 2013, and that the best thing about the pitching staff has been that no matter who the Bucs have had in their rotation, the staff has gotten the job done.

While he isn't sure if this Bucs team can maintain its success better than the 2011 or 2012 Pirates did late in the season, he does feel that this year's squad seems to be a better ball club than either of those two teams were.

"Walk on Wednesday" can be heard every Wednesday on The Fan Morning Show at 8:40 a.m.

The interview can be heard here:
