Storm Hits Our Area, Causes Flooding

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Yet another round of severe weather is rolling through the area today.

Washington and Fayette counties are under a Flood Warning through 6:30 p.m.

Areas such as Chestnut Street in Washington and parts of Fayette County were flooded as the storm hit.

Meanwhile, a Flash Flood Warning has been issued for Indiana County.

Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Cambria, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawerence, Somerset, Washington and Westmoreland counties are all under a severe thunderstorm watch until 8 p.m.

There's also an aerial flood warning in effect for Jefferson County until 9:30 p.m.

KDKA Meteorologist Dennis Bowman says the storm will at least likely bring scattered storms throughout the day.

"We all have to keep our heads up and be prepared here," he says.

Flooding was also reported in parts of Fayette County along Route 119.
