Traffic Restrictions In Place For Downtown Fireworks

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) –Today is the Fourth of July and a spectacular fireworks show is planned downtown. However, there will be some traffic restrictions in place to be aware of.

The inbound side of the Fort Pitt Tunnel will be closed during the fireworks.

State police will shut it down around 9:15 p.m. and detour all drivers through the West End Circle.

Also, drivers will not be allowed to stop on the bridges, interstates or ramps to watch the fireworks. Those who do stop will be cited.

If you plan on using the Port Authority to come downtown, remember buses and inclines are running on Sunday schedules..

Trolleys are running on special holiday schedules as well.
