Trial To Begin For Mother Accused Of Starving Twins

NEW EAGLE (KDKA) - A Washington County woman accused of starving her 6-year-old twins is set to go on trial today.

Roxanne Taylor was arrested at her New Eagle home last year.

Police said she imprisoned and starved the children. Police found a bug and feces-infested house and there was a lock on the outside of the twins' bedroom.

However, one of the boys was able to escape. He weighed just 30 pounds when he was found by a Good Samaritan.

The children's father, Edward Buckholz, pleaded guilty last month in the case.

He now faces a two to four-year sentence.

Taylor is facing a long list of charges, including aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and false imprisonment.
