CASTLE SHANNON (KDKA) – Castle Shannon was just one of the places around the area, which suffered some significant flooding damage during today’s storms.
The Route 88 corridor was closed for a significant amount of time and it was difficult to get around because so many roads were closed.
The part of Route 88 near McNeilly Road was shut down for fear the rushing water would overtake the bridge.
Farther down Route 88, the water began to recede, but there was plenty of damage from earlier in the morning.
The basement of the building that houses the Nailery and Aruba Tan Salon was flooded.
Employees were scrambling and hoping the pumps will come soon so they can open the doors to the customers again.
“Well, we got down here to find that the basement is flooded and the creek is flooded and the parking lot is flooded,” one woman said. “As of right now, we canceled the appointments for the morning and the afternoon. Hopefully, we can get our evening customers in.”
