OIL CITY (KDKA) – Police in Venango County shot and killed a woman Tuesday night.

According to police, the incident happened in Oil City, just before 9 p.m.

According to a Tribune-Review report, the woman allegedly attacked an officer with a knife.

State police said the officers were called out to Central Avenue for a report of a person with some mental issues.

That’s when the woman allegedly approached an officer with the knife, which prompted the officer to shoot her.

The woman’s name has not been released at this time.
