Penguins' Full 2013-14 Regular Season Schedule Released

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Penguins will open the 2013-14 season at home on CONSOL Energy Center ice on Oct. 3 against the New Jersey Devils.

The NHL released its full regular season schedule today. Click here to view the Penguins' full schedule.

After opening the new season against the Devils, the Pens will continue the three-game homestand taking on the Buffalo Sabres on Oct. 5 and then Jordan Staal's Carolina Hurricanes on Oct. 8.

They will then hit the road for Florida where they will play the Panthers on Oct. 11 and the Lightning on Oct. 12.

Other highlights include the Boston Bruins on Oct. 30 at CONSOL Energy Center. It'll be the first meeting between the teams since the Bruins swept the Pens from the playoffs in the spring.

The first meeting against bitter rival, the Flyers, will be Oct. 17 in Philadelphia, and Pens will take on Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals for the first time on Nov. 20.

The other big highlight includes another outdoor game. The Pens will take on the Chicago Blackhawks at Chicago's Soldier Field on March 1.

That game comes just after the Olympic break.

The NHL will take a break from the regular season Feb. 9 through Feb. 26 for the tournament so the NHL stars can take part.

Also, the NHL announced the Penguins will play in the new Metropolitan Division next season.
