Police Search For Suspects After Jitney Driver Carjacked

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police are looking for two men who robbed a jitney driver and stole her car Friday night.

The driver says she picked up two men at the Triangle Bar on Brownsville Road around 11 p.m. and drove them to Dickens Street in the West End.

When she got there, one of the men pulled a gun on her and demanded money. When the driver could not provide the money, she was told to get out of the car and they took off in her vehicle.

Detectives later tracked down the car using GPS and found it on Bentley Drive in the Hill District.

Police were also able to get video surveillance footage of someone using the jitney driver’s credit card at an ATM machine. Police say they have now identified that person.

The investigation continues.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 412-323-7151.
