Paul Chryst On Rushel Shell: "I Truly Do Wish The Best For Him"

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Since the departure of Rushel Shell from Pitt, Head Coach Paul Chryst has mostly stayed quiet on the topic, but he opened up to Starkey, Miller and Mueller about the situation and why it has played out the way it has.

"I'm not going to share a lot of information and probably vice versa, so you get part of the truth," he said. "I truly do wish the best for him, but kind of like in recruiting, you look at fits and what guys fit the place."

With all eyes looking toward camp for the Panthers, Chryst discussed the battle for the starting Quarterback position between Tom Savage and Chad Voytik and when he'd like to have his depth chart settled.

"They'll both get a lot of reps," he said. "They'll play out, and on the field it will determine who becomes the starter, but usually those aren't that hard of calls."

Chryst also addressed when he'd like to have his starting Quarterback named, when he'll start preparing his team for the opener against Florida State and what expectations are for the school's first year in the ACC.
