Police Investigating Overnight Violence In Homewood

HOMEWOOD (KDKA) –Police are investigating an incident where shots were fired at an SUV as well as an armed carjacking in Homewood overnight.

According to police, an SUV was found near the intersection of North Homewood Avenue and Bennett Street with what appeared to be bullet holes.

The vehicle is believed to have been involved in an incident about half of a mile away near the intersection of Upland and Lang Streets. The driver of the SUV may have been shot at. He then hit another vehicle before getting out of the vehicle and running from the scene.

A female passenger was left alone in the vehicle.

Police are also investigating an armed carjacking that happened at Ferris Court just before midnight.

The victim told police he was in a parking lot when three men approached his vehicle. One pointed a gun at him and told him to get out of the vehicle.

He told police that he got out of the car and at that point, one of the other suspects punched him in the face.

The victim then ran from the scene and called police. His vehicle was found nearby a short time later.
