Explosion Reportedly Rips Part Of Roof Off Of Derry Twp. Plant

DERRY TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- An explosion sent emergency crews to a plant in Westmoreland County late Wednesday evening.

According to emergency officials, it happened just after 9 p.m. at the Allegheny Ludlum facility in the 100-block Menasha Lane in Derry Township.

A portion of the facility's roof was reportedly blown off in the explosion.

However, no injuries have been reported and there were no cases of entrapment.

Several fire departments, including Latrobe and Derry Township, were called to the scene.
