Penn Hills Bank Robber In Custody In Ohio

PENN HILLS (KDKA) -- Police near Cincinnati, Ohio, have a man in custody stemming from a Penn Hills bank robbery last month.

Shane Bowlin, who had been reported missing by his mother, was arrested in a motel in the city of Sharonville, Ohio.

Police said when he was picked up; he was driving a car reported stolen.

He faces a bank robbery charges, stemming from the holdup of the Citizens Bank on Saltsburg Road in Penn Hills on June 26.

A bank surveillance photo was released by Penn Hills Police, and a detective in Sharonville saw Bowlin's picture on the KDKA-TV website and contacted local authorities after recognizing the suspect as the man that had been in custody there since earlier this month.

The case has now been turned over to the FBI.

Bowlins, who sources say has a criminal history involving bank heists, is also suspected in other recent bank holdups in Ohio and Michigan.
