MCCONNELLS MILL (KDKA) – Slippery Rock Township in Lawrence County was a busy place Thursday with state police, rescue crews and search dogs all looking for a man.

A passing motorist said he saw the man standing on the Route 422 Bridge above Slippery Rock Creek.

It happened just after 5 a.m.

When police arrived, there was no man, but they did find a Ford pickup truck still running and there was a blood trail from the truck to the bridge.

After a search that lasted nearly 10 hours, emergency teams found the body of a 48-year-old man from the New Castle area in Slippery Rock Creek.

His name has not been released and investigators say he may have taken his own life.
