Walk On Wednesday: What To Expect At Trade Deadline

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) -- Pirates color commentator and former pitcher Bob Walk joined The Fan Morning Show today for another edition of his weekly segment, "Walk on Wednesday."

Walk doesn't think that General Manager Neal Huntington will be swayed by the current winning streak. He thinks that Huntington is still trying to talk to other teams, and that anything Huntington thought about doing two weeks ago is still in play right now.

He said that Tuesday's doubleheader sweep was the perfect example of how this team has succeeded all year- in the first game, they had nothing going on offense and they found a way to win, and in the second game, the offense came alive, and carried them to a blowout victory.

He thinks that this series is sending a message not only to the Cardinals, but also to the Pirates themselves. In his mind, despite how good things have been going, there is still probably a little doubt in the back of the their minds- doubt that is now starting to melt away.

He said that if the Pirates make a deal today, they will be okay, because the guys in the clubhouse believe that they have everything they need to win.

"Walk on Wednesday" can be heard every Wednesday on The Fan Morning Show at 8:40 a.m.
