Police Find Drugs, Arrest Teen After Chase, Crash In Sheraden

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh Police have a 17-year-old boy in custody after he tried to flee a car that was being pursued by officers in Pittsburgh's Sheraden section.

It happened in the 2700-block of Zephyr Avenue.

The teen tried to bail out and run from the Sonata after it crashed into a home while being chased in reverse.

The driver of the rental car is still on the run.

The homeowner, Charles Palmer, said police told him the car may have been backing up at speeds of 70 miles an hour.

Palmer said, "I didn't know a car could go in reverse that fast."

Palmer's home sustained major structural damage when it was hit.

Police found more than 100 stamped bags of heroin in the rental vehicle after the crash.
