Cross Burned Into Grass Outside Of Mifflin Elementary School

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A mysterious image was found in a lawn outside of a local elementary school overnight.

Someone burned a cross into the grass outside of Mifflin Elementary School.

It happened around midnight Friday at the school along Mifflin Road.

There was no damage to the school.

Pittsburgh Public Schools officials said the incident was reported to city police and arson investigators are looking into the act of vandalism.

They say someone used gasoline to create the image.

"The District is disheartened to hear about an act of vandalism that took place on the grounds of Pittsburgh Mifflin Pre-K-8 near Mifflin Road and Interboro Avenue," part of the district's statement read.

Officials also said the burned section of the grass has been removed.

No arrests have been made.
