4-Year-Old Child Drowns In Neighbor's Pool

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – State police say a 4-year-old boy wandered away from his home and drowned in his neighbor's pool.

It happened about 6:30 p.m. Saturday evening in Washington Township in Armstrong County.

Police say the child wandered from his house, and climbed a locked gate that blocked access to the deck of the above-ground pool.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner identified the boy as Colby Nickel. His death was ruled as an accidental drowning.

Police say family members started looking for him and found him not moving in the pool.

Paramedics tried to revive the boy on the scene, and also at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh at UPMC, but the child died.
