Police Investigating North Side Shooting

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - A 48-year old North Side man was wounded late Monday, when he was shot in the abdomen.

Police says the victim and his girlfriend had driven to Saturn Way, and Armandale Streets, in the central North Side area, to check out an apartment.

She waited inside his parked vehicle, and as the man was walking into the apartment building with the property owner, at least three shots rang out.

Police said the man suffered gunshot wound, and he was taken to nearby Allegheny General Hospital.

One witness told police that he saw three young men, all in their teens or early 20's, one was on a bike, near the scene the shooting.

Another witness said she saw what looked like a tan Ford Explorer speeding off, after the shots were fired.

The driver, she said, had dreadlocks.

No one else was wounded in the incident.

Police think the man who was wounded may have been an innocent victim who just happened to be the neighborhood at that time.
