PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A mail carrier from Mt. Washington has won the women’s world championship in horseshoes.

Cindy Hoffman started pitching horse shoes 20-years ago, and has been training at the H.O.P.E. horseshoes club in Carnegie.

That training has led Hoffman to eight consecutive state championships.

The world championships were held over 6-days in Utah.

To bring home the trophy, Cindy had to beat two, 7-time champions.

In the final match, Cindy faced Sue Snyder, who is so good, she has a horseshoe named after her.

“She’d get a head, I’d get a head. It went down to 36-36 and she missed both her shoes at the end. So I got two ringers on, and I won 40-36.”

After winning Cindy said she did her party dance, in private of course.
