Elderly Funeral Home Director Gets House Arrest For Alleged Murder

PITTSBURGH (KDKA/AP) – An elderly funeral home directory, accused of killing a man will get house arrest until his trial.

William Welsh, 89, admitted to shooting and killing 58-year-old William Menni last month and was expected to be release from jail Friday.

He's been in jail since the shooting July 26.

An elderly funeral home directory, accused of killing a man will get house arrest until his trial.

Earlier this month, a judge also ruled that Welsh will go to trial.

Welsh allegedly killed Menni by shooting him in the head after the two got into an argument over payment for tearing down a building.

Menni later died at UPMC Mercy.

The judge said Welsh will be held on electronic monitoring and must surrender all weapons and have no contact with the victim's family. He will be allowed to leave only for medical appointments, religious services or visits with his attorney.
