Man Accused Of Trying To Stab Girlfriend Prompts Manhunt

WESTMORELAND COUNTY (KDKA) — A man is in custody after a manhunt in Westmoreland County.

It started at the Sheetz in Youngwood, where police say Nathan Fry tried to stab his girlfriend during a fight.

The two ended up at Christopher’s Pizza in Jeannette where Fry allegedly punched the woman before taking off into the woods.

Police searched on foot and used a K-9 and helicopter to lure Fry out of the woods.

He was taken into custody shortly after 8 p.m.

Fry was taken to the Jeannette Police Department and is expected to be arraigned sometime this evening.

Police say family members were concerned that Fry may try to harm himself or others because of his extensive prison record.
