Children And Youth Services Board Member Charged With Rape

GREENE COUNTY, Pa. (KDKA) – A man who serves on a Greene County Children and Youth services board is charged with raping a young boy over a period of several years.

John Robert Lohr, 56, of Carmichaels is charged with rape by forcible compulsion, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse by forcible compulsion, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person younger than 16, sexual assault, corruption of minors and indecent assault by forcible compulsion.

According to a Pennsylvania state police affidavit, Lohr, forcibly raped the young boy over several years, even threatening him with a kitchen knife if he didn't perform oral sex on Lohr.

Police say the boy claims Lohr also gave him energy drinks to keep him awake before initiating the abuse.

Lohr was arrested Aug. 29 by police in West Virginia and placed in the North Central Regional Jail in Fairmont, Marion County.

KDKA has also learned Lohr is vice chairman of the Greene County Children and Youth Services Advisory Board. He also has been on the board of Greene Arc since 1999, when he was a director of residential services at Laurel House Inc. of Uniontown, a program that offers home placement for the mentally challenged.
