New Charges Filed Against Brookline Principal

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - New charges were filed Wednesday against the principal of a local elementary school.

Alfonzo DeIuliis was already facing charges after allegedly exposing himself to a teenage boy.

Today, DeIuliis walked out of District Justice William K. Walker's office accused of more charges of open lewdness and indecent exposure.

"They're a new set of charges. We're going to defend them the same way as we're defending the current charges," attorney Phil DiLucente said.

The 37-year-old Brookline K-8 principal allegedly exposed himself and engaged in inappropriate actions directed at a Slippery Rock University student inside the men's locker room at the McCandless LA Fitness.

"At this juncture, there is a claim that he's in a sauna and he exposes himself while wearing a towel," DiLucente said.

The incident allegedly occurred in July. According to police, at the same gym, DeIuliis asked a 17-year-old if he could perform a sex act on him on Aug. 13.

DeIuliis is on paid leave from his position.

"He is not going to go to any LA Fitness, nor attempt to go into any spa whatsoever," DiLucente said.

DeIuliis is free on $10,000 unsecured bond and faces a preliminary hearing on combined charges in October.
