Bill Cowher Enjoying Having More Time To Himself

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) -- Former Steelers head coach Bill Cowher joined The Fan Morning Show on Thursday to offer his take on the upcoming NFL season.

Cowher continues to say that he is happy where he is at in his life right now, not coaching and working for CBS.

He said he knew he was walking away from the best job in football when he did. He is comfortable now, so much so that he can even wear makeup and play a bodyguard for his girlfriend's music video.

Cowher said that the league has changed a great deal since he has left and that the new trend is the read-option, and as teams figure that out, we will see how much of that is used this year. He says that the Steelers did use Kordell Stewart like RGIII or a Russell Wilson or Colin Kaepernick, but he doubts whether these types of QBs can win you a Super Bowl.

Cowher can be seen on CBS's "The NFL Today," which airs Sundays from noon to 1 p.m. before every NFL on CBS game.

The NFL on CBS debuts with Steelers versus Titans this Sunday at 1 p.m., a game that can be seen locally on KDKA-TV.
