Mother Pleads For Information In Son's Homewood Shooting Death

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Family and neighbors gathered on Formosa Way in Homewood Thursday night to memorialize a young murder victim found shot to death there on Monday.

During the vigil, local clergy pleaded for the killings to stop and for witnesses to come forward.

Dayjon Parker, 17, was shot in the head in Wilkinsburg, then driven to Homewood and left in the back seat of the car.

Three people who were with him called his mother, Cheryl Parker, who then called 911.

"He was innocent," said Parker's mother at the vigil. "I don't know what happened the night he was killed, but I need someone, please, please come forward and let me and my family know what happened to my child.

"I only had one child; I need to know what happened to him," she added. "I know there's people out there who know."

Allegheny County Police are investigating, along with Wilkinsburg Borough Police.

They believe the fatal shot was fired from outside the vehicle.
