City Police Cmdr. Heading Back To Work After Crash

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - A Pittsburgh Police commander who was severely injured in a head-on crash last summer is heading back to work today.

Commander Linda Rosato-Barone, 55, was injured when her car was struck head-on by a vehicle on Steubenville Pike in Robinson Township last July.

It's been a long road to recovery for Barone, who underwent surgery for broken ankles, femurs and ribs after a minivan smashed head-on into her unmarked police cruiser.

It was a painful time for the commander and she's been on leave, getting back to where she is today, coming back to work to head the Narcotics and Vice Squad.
