A borough in Armstrong County, Kittanning is located 44 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, by the east bank of the Allegheny River. The Armstrong County Courthouse and the Allegheny River Lock and Dam No. 7 are on the list of National Register of Historic Places, and these sites are within the borough. With a population a little over 4,000 people, Kittanning has been used for the setting of a variety of recent films.
