Pirates’ McCutchen Nominated For Clemente Award
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pirates’ Andrew McCutchen is one of the finalists for the 2013 Roberto Clemente Award, the team announced Monday.
McCutchen is one of 30 other MLB players nominated for the award.
The award, presented by Chevrolet, “recognizes a Major League Baseball player who best represents the game of baseball through positive contributions on and off the field, including sportsmanship and community involvement.”
The Pirates say since McCutchen joined the team in 2009, he has donated significant amounts of money to Pirates Charities.
Tuesday is also the 12th annual Roberto Clemente Day.
