“D” is for Duquesne. On Monday, October 14th, Larry and John took the morning news to Duquesne’s Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.
Check out photos from the event here.
The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank distributes 27 million pounds of food each year through 400+ member agencies (soup kitchens, pantries) and direct distributions (their Produce to People program) across 11 counties. The Food Bank, with nearly 100 staff members, is dedicated to feeding today’s hungry population and shortening tomorrow’s line towards complete regional food security. The vast majority of their clients are children, seniors and recently unemployed individuals, who benefit from the Food Bank’s purchasing power and extensive network – every $1 donated provides 5 meals.
To get involved, you can join thousands of donors, volunteers and advocates in the “Donate. Volunteer. Speak Out” campaign. For more information on the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, click here or visit them on facebook and twitter. To donate, click here.
This live broadcast is brought to you by 84 Lumber, a proud, long time sponsor of the Food Bank and many other charities both locally and nationally.
