Woman Burned During Arlington House Fire

ARLINGTON (KDKA) -- An unidentified woman was taken to UMPC Mercy Hospital Monday night, after she suffered burns to her feet and legs.

It happened during a house fire in the 2400-block of Spring Street, in Pittsburgh's Arlington neighborhood.

A small child who was also at home at the time was taken to the hospital to be checked, however, it's not believed he was hurt.

The blaze – which started in a second floor bedroom - caused heavy damage to the upstairs of the home, and smoke and water damage on the first floor.

Ashley Boebel, who took some video of the blaze, said, "the hose was literally ablaze, I heard a lady screaming, it was really sad."

There's no word on the woman's condition.

Battalion Chief Frank Beck said, "when we got to the scene, the fire was blowing out of both windows on the second floor."

Arson investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.
