Ed Bouchette's Instant Steelers Analysis: Tomlin, Haley Not On Hot Seat
PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - As the Steelers prepare for a trip to London, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Steelers insider Ed Bouchette dishes the latest with Vinnie & Cook on Sportsradio 93.7 The Fan.
Pittsburgh is 0-3, and some Steelers fans are already calling for the Rooneys to make changes in the organization.
Bouchette reminds those fans, "The Steelers have had three coaches since 1969. Bill Cowher had three straight years out of the playoffs. You know what they did? They extended his contract. Mike Tomlin's going nowhere. They're not going to fire anybody in the middle of the season. So, Todd Haley is here to stay for 2013 at least, and then I'm sure they'll evaluate that after the season. And Kevin Colbert's here to stay too unless he retires."
Bouchette also reacts to Ben Roethlisberger's controversial thoughts on rookie running back Le'Veon Bell, and looks at the areas the Steelers need to shore up this weekend against Minnesota.
He also doesn't hold back his assessment of the stark reality staring the Steelers in the face this week.
"They have to win," Bouchette says. "If they lose Sunday, all bets are off. And I think you can flush the season down the toilet."
