Hearing Postponed For Local Rapper Facing Drug Charges

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The hearing for a young Wilkinsburg rapper who is facing drug charges has been postponed.

Joseph Barnett, 21, of Wilkinsburg was brought from jail to a preliminary hearing Thursday.

The rap artist is facing drug and other charges following his arrest on Aug. 30.

But the hearing was postponed at the request of prosecutors because they say they are awaiting results from the Allegheny County Crime Lab.

Barnett was transported back to the Allegheny County Jail to await a new hearing in mid-October.

The rap artist recently signed a multi-million dollar recording contract.

Police said they found heroin in the car Barnett was driving when he was pulled over for going through a stop sign on Penn Avenue.

He neither had a driver's license nor an ID on him when he was stopped.
