Wilmerding Man Arrested Again On Child Sex Assault Charges

WILMERDING (KDKA) -- Melvin James Amodeo, 25, has been arrested for the second time in two weeks on child sex charges.

Police say he would meet teenagers on social networking websites and allegedly exchange nude photos with them after sexting them.

Amodeo was first arrested on Sept. 17 after officials say a Brentwood woman saw sexually-explicit photos on her daughter's cell phone and tipped off police.

Amodeo was released from jail on $10,000 bond.

In the past week, a 14-year-old girl came forward to say that she and Amodeo had allegedly been sexting at first and that escalated to a sexual relationship.

When Allegheny County Police went to Amodeo's Wilmerding home to re-arrest him on Tuesday of this week, they found a 15-year-old boy in the house.

In a criminal complaint, it states the boy and Amodeo had engaged in an alleged sexual relationship after meeting on a social website.

Amodeo is back in the Allegheny County Jail in the behavioral clinic being held without bail.

Police are continuing their investigation, and say based on the explicit photos on his cell phone, there may be other teen victims who have not yet to come forward.
