PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan)- Steelers linebacker Larry Foote joined the Fan Morning Show for his weekly spot on Tuesday to discuss the first Steelers 0-4 start since 1968.
“We created this monster” Foote said talking about the horrible start. “We can forget about the playoffs (for now) and focus on winning a game.”
Foote said the challenge is now that it’s hard enough to face an opponent, but now it’s also man vs. itself inside that locker room to make sure that everyone stays together and works hard to try and improve.
Foote doesn’t question the effort. He says they just have to get better. The bye week comes at a good time to get things right and try and to make a late push. He points out that 9-7 teams still make the playoffs.
Speaking of playoffs, Larry – like everyone else – is excited for the Pirates tonight and he says he is planning on watching at home unless he can score a ticket. He is pulling for a Tigers/Pirates World Series, but is not ready to make a prediction on a winner.
“It’s going seven games. That is all I am going to say” Foote said.
Foote admits that he was laughed at from saying last week on the show that the devil is to blame for the Steelers lack of forcing turnovers on defense. He said nobody is laughing at him now after looking at what happened this past week where the ball is just bouncing the wrong way.
“The devil lives in London too” Foote said. “He knows the Steelers are God’s team and he hates everything he does, so he hates us too.”
