2 Cars Damaged In Bloomfield Demolition Accident

FRIENDSHIP (KDKA) – Two cars were damaged after a wall collapsed during a building demolition in Pittsburgh's Bloomfield neighborhood Tuesday afternoon.

According to officials at the scene, a demolition company was tearing down an old grocery store near the intersection of Penn Avenue and Pacific Street.

A backhoe knocked out a back wall, which caused it to fall into the street. The resulting debris heavily damaged one car, while another suffered minor damage.

In addition to the damage to the vehicles, about 500 customers were left without cable and phone service after some wires were brought down.

There are no reported injuries and no other information has been released at this time.
