Police Track Down Man Accused Of Abducting Estranged Wife

MOON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – Police spent part of Monday afternoon tracking down a man after it was reported he abducted his estranged wife against her will.

Police were looking for the duo in Moon Township Monday afternoon.

According to emergency dispatchers, the incident happened in the 200-block of Sycamore Drive off of Mooncrest Drive around 1 p.m. The wife had been staying there with her brother and was allegedly forced into a car by her estranged husband -- after which, the woman's sister-in-law called police.

The man is originally from Honduras and he allegedly forced the woman into a white, four-door Nissan Armada.

Police believed he was heading to Texas, where he lives. And after tracking pings on his cellphone, police were able to find the couple traveling along Route 70 in Ohio.

Once they pulled over, police had to bring in a translator for the couple, who don't speak English.

After that, they say the wife said she was taken against her will, but that she didn't want to press charges -- which meant her estranged husband was free to travel back to Texas.

The woman asked to return to her brother's house in Moon.
