PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) -Steelers linebacker Larry Foote tells the guys on The Fan Morning Show that anytime you beat the defending Super Bowl Champions it adds a little pep to your step. It doesn’t hurt that those defending champs are also your most hated rival in the Baltimore Ravens. The Steelers won 19-16 on a last-second field goal for their second straight win.
“We got to keep stacking,” Foote said.
The Steelers are now (2-4) so there is still work that needs to be done. The next step is finding a way to get a win in Oakland. A place that has not been too kind to the Steelers.
“That poor devil. I remember giving up only 90 yards there and losing the game,” Foote said. “Don’t care what the record is. Their record was not good last year and we went there and lost.”
Foote said this team has to find a way to get a win in Oakland to keep this thing rolling. But, for whatever reason, it’s not easy to win there.
“We don’t know what it is, but we hate that place,” Foote said. “We have to find a way to get a W there.”
Foote said he is a fan of what Oakland Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor has been able to do in the NFL and thinks he has a bright future as long as he can find a way to take less hits.
But, he will tell you that he is not a fan of where he went to college.
Larry also tells the guys that despite being injured, he did play a key role in this win. He was coaching up everyone on the sidelines including telling Shaun Suisham which way the wind was blowing on the game-winning field goal and coming up with the idea of running the wildcat.
He says he hasn’t had time to break down the film yet for this week, but he is planning a few trick plays.
He is kidding of course. He gives all the credit to the coaches, but if he comes up with something, why not? Whatever it takes for the Steelers to get a win in Oakland.
