PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) – Fresh off the news that the Pens would be keeping him on the roster, Olli Maatta joined Starkey, Miller and Mueller to discuss his game and what the adjustment period has been like for him.
“I don’t think it’s that hard,” Maatta said. “I feel like the guys have taken me in pretty well and I’ve got more comfortable out there every game, so it’s been pretty good.”
We also hear from Maatta on his game, and what about it that is allowing him to compete in the pros at such a young age.
“I don’t do that much out there, I just play simple games, get the puck to the forwards,” Maatta said. “It’s been an easy adjustment to play with the good forwards like we have.”
Things wrapped up with Maatta talking about the biggest difference between playing in juniors and the NHL, and what area of his game he thinks he needs to improve upon the most.
