David DeCastro: 'We Are The Ones Who Put Ourselves Here'

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) -Steelers guard David DeCastro joined The Fan Morning Show Tuesday morning following the Steelers' 21-18 loss to the Oakland Raiders.

The loss dropped the Steelers to 2-5 on the season and thus making any type of playoff run seem bleak. DeCastro said this was the toughest loss of them all.

"It was a team we thought we could beat," DeCastro said. "Our play showed we didn't deserve to win that game."

The Steelers' offensive line suffered more injuries including an ankle injury to DeCastro himself.

"Can't talk about it," DeCastro said. "I will do everything I can to be back as soon as possible."

DeCastro said the injuries and the ever-changing rotation of guys on that line has been tough to deal with, but injuries are part of the game and it can not be used as an excuse. David also said the travel to the west coast can't be used as an excuse either because other teams have been able to figure it out.

David said by far this was the worst game they have played all season and they have to be much better to beat the Patriots, or anyone else.

"We are the ones who put ourselves here," DeCastro said of the 2-5 start. "And we are the only ones who can pull us out."

David is able to find a way to get a laugh as the guys do everything they can to try and get an answer from him about this ankle injury.
