Ed Bouchette's Instant Steelers Analysis: Chance For Victory In Foxboro?

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Steelers beat writer Ed Bouchette holds his weekly visit with Vinnie & Cook on Sportsradio 93-7 The Fan. He goes inside the Steelers' preparations for facing the New England Patriots.

While a few may be writing off the Steelers' chances in Foxboro, Bouchette isn't exactly on that bandwagon.

"We've seen them win on the road," he says of the Steelers. "The (Patriots) are 6-2. Just look at their record, and they look pretty good. But if you peer a little closer, they've struggled. And so has Tom Brady. So there's reason to believe. Am I going to pick them to win? Heck no! But they can win."

In years past, the Steelers have been able to get improved offensive line play as the season progresses. This season, Bouchette points out, that may not be the case.

"There's not a lot they can do at this point. We've seen this a lot in the past where lines start out shaky and they come together. Well, this one hasn't had the time to come together," said Bouchette. "There hasn't been time for those guys to play long enough together. Not a lot they can do!"

Meanwhile, the Steelers released punter Zoltan Mesko on Tuesday.

Ed's thoughts on whether that transaction will be the cure?

"No, it's not going to solve any of their problems, really," he said. "A punter is a punter."

Hear all of Ed Bouchette's latest thoughts in the full interview below. He joins Vinnie & Cook every Wednesday at noon on Sportsradio 93-7 The Fan.
